Eastern Shore Man Shocked by $20,200 Scratch-off Win

Takes home top prize on 2020 Cash instant ticket

A Federalsburg resident recently purchased a $10 scratch-off at the nearby Bloomingdale Quick Mart and scratched it off in the store. That instant ticket was not a winner, so he decided to try his luck with the $20 2020 Cash scratch-off, which led him to a $20,200 top prize.

The shocked winner tried, without success, calling his brother to share his good news.

“I was sleeping,” the winner’s brother told Maryland Lottery officials during their visit to Lottery headquarters to claim the prize. “When I woke up to all those missed calls, I thought something was wrong.”

Needless to say, the brother was thrilled to hear the good news. The 30-year-old winner, who said he plans to save his prize, isn’t the only one who wins. Bloomingdale Quick Mart located at 307 Bloomingdale Avenue in Federalsburg will receive a bonus of $202 for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off in the game.

This instant ticket launched on Nov. 18 and is loaded with top prizes. Players can hunt for the 170 unclaimed top prizes of $20,200 out in circulation.
