Eastern Shore Server in Shock after $725,000 Multi-Match Win

Bought Winning Ticket at Millington Retailer

A long-time Eastern Shore restaurant server can untie her apron and proceed with a much-needed knee surgery this spring without worrying about making ends meet. The lucky Maryland Lottery player just found out she had the $725,000 Multi-Match jackpot-winning ticket in the March 3 drawing!

“The win comes at a great time,” said the Queen Anne’s County resident. Her spring knee surgery was already in the planning stage, as was a move in a few weeks to a smaller home on the Eastern Shore. The prize will certainly help with her moving costs, she said.

The 25-year Maryland resident bought the ticket only because the impending snowstorm inspired her to stop to buy gas at a Millington convenience store. Although she seldom plays Lottery games, Multi-Match is her game of choice. She let the machine quick pick the numbers for her five games on the winning ticket and the very last line of numbers on the fifth game matched those drawn.

Our lucky lady plans to add buying a new car and establishing an investment portfolio to her list of things to do with her winnings. She is still in shock about her win. When she stopped at the store the day after the drawing, a clerk suggested she check her tickets. “They all came out from behind the counter and hugged me,” she said.
