Easton Woman is First Maryland Lottery Millionaire of 2011

Claims Final $1 Million Ravens Cash Fantasy Top Prize

Leslie Brogley - Ravens Cash FantasyA postal worker and volunteer firefighter from Easton claimed the third and final Ravens Cash Fantasy $1 million instant prize today, becoming Maryland’s newest millionaire.  Leslie Brogley, who admittedly has only ever purchased three Ravens Cash Fantasy scratch-offs, gave an emotional story as to how she became a Ravens fan.

“The Ravens invited my friend’s terminally ill child to meet Ray Lewis,” she told Lottery Officials.  “It was such an incredible experience.  How can you not become a fan of the Ravens after something like that?”

Leslie’s boyfriend Tim, also a firefighter, has a tradition of buying his girlfriend Lottery tickets.  This year’s gift produced a few winners, and with that cash, Leslie purchased additional tickets yesterday after picking up her granddaughter.  “I sat there in the parking lot not really believing what I was seeing,” she told officials.  “I went back to the store to figure it out and when they told me it was true I was jumping around, hugging everybody.”  Tim was the first person she called to share the good news.  Unfortunately, as Leslie’s call was coming in, the fire engines were heading out on a call.  They had to wait several hours to celebrate together.

The couple plans to pay bills, take her granddaughter to Disney World and just enjoy the experience of no longer living paycheck-to-paycheck.  The winning ticket was purchased from the 7-11 convenience store, located at 410 N. Washington St. in Easton.

With 95% of Ravens Cash Fantasy tickets sold, there are still many instant prizes remaining to be won, including six $10,000 cash prizes. Players may also enter the ticket’s Internet Promotion for Ravens-themed prizes including Season Tickets for Life.
