Thanks to a “Lucky Airplane” outing, this Edgewater mom picked up a $100,000 top prize on The Price Is Right® scratch-off.
Airport visit with toddler led to winning instant ticket purchase
Indulging an Edgewater toddler’s fascination with airplanes often leads his mom and dad to visit Lee Airport near their home to see aircraft up close. A Maryland Lottery scratch-off purchase at Lucky’s Superette on the way home from an airport visit has the parents’ heads in the clouds, too.
The mom, who plays Lottery games a few times a year, decided to buy The Price Is Right® scratch-off at the Edgewater Lottery retailer. After putting down her $10 for the instant ticket, she scratched off the latex and said to her family, “I think I just won $100,000!”
A quick check of the instant ticket revealed that she did score one of the game’s top prizes. The mom chose the alias “Lucky Airplane” to celebrate her brush with Lottery luck! The Anne Arundel County resident is not sure yet how her family will enjoy her prize but she is considering home repairs and a boost in her son’s college savings account.
“Lucky Airplane” also plans to keep picking up the occasional scratch-off to enjoy. The 40-year-old notes that her luck is good this year. The only other instant ticket she bought was a $5 scratch-off that carried a $20 prize.
Our happy player isn’t the only winner! For selling a $100,000 top-prize winning ticket, Lucky’s Superette at 119 Mayo Road in Edgewater will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery.
The Price is Right® scratch-off game launched on April 22, 2019. There are seven remaining $100,000 prizes and 11 remaining $50,000 prizes waiting to be found at Lottery retailers across the state.
