Electronics Technician Shocked by $10,000 Scratch-off Win

Westminster man claims 10x Cash game’s top prize

196-10x-Cash-ITVM_P1-blueA 48-year-old veteran electronics technician just became a three-time Maryland Lottery winner after connecting with a $10,000 prize on a 10x Cash scratch-off.

“This was really quite a surprise, especially since I don’t even play that often,” said the Westminster resident. “A few years ago, I won two $50,000 Bonus Match 5 jackpots.”

The 48-year-old found his Lottery luck at Winfield Liquors located at 1707 West Liberty Road in Westminster.

“I decided to scratch the ticket when I got home during the football game,” he said. “I had to get my mother to check the ticket for me! That’s how often I get to play.” The lucky Carroll County man is the 80th player to win one of 85 top-tier $10,000 prizes.

He told Lottery officials that besides buying Christmas gifts for his family, he plans to donate a portion of his winnings to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He said that his mom thinks his good fortune comes from the very fact that he always tries to help worthy causes. When he won with Bonus Match 5 a few years back, he donated some of the prize to her church.
