Elkton Retailer Sells $50,000 Winning Bonus Match 5 Ticket

16th top-tier ticket sold in 2015

Check your tickets, Bonus Match 5 players, because someone is $50,000 – or maybe $100,000 – richer today! The Maryland Lottery is looking for the lucky player holding a winning ticket from the Friday, April 24 drawing. The winning ticket was sold by Fairhill Liquors at 3135 Singerly Road in Elkton.

The ticket is the 16th top-prize winning Bonus Match 5 ticket sold in 2015 and matches the five numbers of 11, 14, 17, 18 and 27; the Bonus Ball was 38. Lottery officials urge the winner to sign the back of the ticket and put it in a safe place. The winner has 182 days to claim the prize and must come in person to Lottery headquarters at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore.

Here’s another bit of luck – this win occurred during the Lottery’s Bonus Match 5 Doubler and Taxes Paid promotions running through April 26. Winning tickets with “Doubler” printed on them pay $100,000 rather than $50,000. And, taxes are paid on all winning tickets worth $50,000 or $100,000!

The Cecil County retailer is also a winner; the Lottery will give the store a bonus of $500 – or $1,000 if the ticket is a Doubler – for selling the lucky ticket.

Bonus Match 5 drawings take place seven days a week. Players select five numbers ranging from one to 39. The Bonus Ball drawn from the remaining 34 numbers provides extra chances to win. Your ticket is a winner if you match five, four or three of the original five winning numbers selected in the drawing. If you match the Bonus Ball number, you only need to match four, three or two of your original numbers to win!
