2025 MSP Polar Bear Plunge

JOIN THE MARYLAND LOTTERY for a great cause at the 29th annual Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge at Sandy Point State Park.
Besides being great fun to watch, this fundraising event set for Jan. 24-Feb. 1 benefits year-round sports and leadership programs for more than 19,000 athletes and teammates of Special Olympics Maryland. Cheer on the individuals who raise funds by plunging into the chilly waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
After diving into the chilly Bay, head over to our booth for Lottery giveaways and lots of fun and games! We’ll be on hand from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, which is the corporate plunge day and Police Plunge day and highlights plungers from law enforcement, military, fire/EMS and first responders. Look for us on Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. for the Maryland plunge.
Make sure to give our famous prize wheel a spin (ages 18 and up). Meet our events team, ask questions about upcoming games and promotions and pose for a photo or two with your Lottery souvenir. Wear your plunge costumes to the booth and bring your brightest smile. Everybody walks away a winner!
