Extra Thanksgiving Treat for Ft. Washington Man

Nacoties Flemings has terrific Thanksgiving weekend

$30,000 Cash Craze Crossword Winner

Nacoties Flemings buys two scratch-off tickets every day. Cash Craze Crossword is one of the scratch-offs he prefers, along with bingo-themed games. The tickets are always the same – day-in, day-out. Although, his routine doesn’t change, the results this past Thanksgiving weekend certainly did. On Thanksgiving Day, his purchase yielded $200 in winnings. Then on Friday, the 75-year-old revealed his biggest win yet, a $30,000 top prize on the Cash Craze Crossword ticket.

“I stopped at the Sunoco and bought my normal two tickets,” said Nacoties. “I scratched them at home and at first thought that I had won $100.” The retired warehouse manager continued scratching his ticket and kept looking at what he had revealed. “I started counting the words. I thought, ‘Whoa, this is it.’”

Nacoties immediately signed his winning ticket and put it in a jacket pocket for safekeeping until bringing it to Lottery Headquarters this afternoon. The father-of-seven has not yet told anyone about his good fortune, saying “I’ll share the news when I have the check in my hand.” Nacoties will share a bit of his prize money with his children as well. He also may take a trip to Arkansas at Christmas to visit his brother.

The winning ticket was purchased at Sunoco A+ Mini Mart, located at 6907 New Hampshire Ave in Takoma Park.
