Eye-Catching Sign Helps Player Find Top-Prize Scratch-off Win

Glen Burnie woman wins $50,000 on Diamonds & Gold Doubler game

A Glen Burnie Multi-Match and Mega Millions subscriber who rarely plays Maryland Lottery scratch-offs simply couldn’t resist buying a $5 Diamonds & Gold Doubler instant ticket. Thanks to an eye-catching sign on the 7-Eleven’s scratch-off, the lucky player followed through with a purchase and won the game’s $50,000 top prize.

“I just walked in and saw the ‘new’ sign on the instant ticket holder and decided to play,” she said. “I scratched off the number portion to see if any matched. When I saw the number 19 was a match, I began to scratch off the dollar amount and saw the $50,000! I was surprised, to say the least.”

The 80-year-old won the fourth of eight $50,000 top prizes in the game. There are still plenty of winning scratch-offs available with thousands of prizes ranging from $5 to $50,000.

When Lottery officials asked what she planned to do with her winnings, the happy player said she would save the prize. She hopes to return to Lottery headquarters to claim an even bigger prize next time!

7-Eleven #11542 is also a winner. For selling a top-prize scratch-off in the game, the Anne Arundel County store located at 705 Greenway Avenue in Glen Burnie will earn a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
