Winning Maryland Lottery ticket pays proud papa $50,000
Talk about the best Father’s Day gift ever! A Glen Burnie man who received three Double Dice scratch-off tickets from his wife and son as a Father’s Day gift turned up at Maryland Lottery headquarters to claim the second part of his gift — $50,000.
The proud papa scratched off two tickets before discovering the third one was a winner. He checked it four times before asking his wife to take a look. “Is this for real?” the Anne Arundel County man remembers asking his wife.
Indeed it was. His wife of 10 years, who usually purchases their weekly Lottery tickets, selected the Double Dice scratch-off tickets. The couple has played the Lottery for more than a decade, winning smaller amounts on Pick 3 and Pick 4. They also play Powerball and Mega Millions every week. They’ve never won a prize of this amount!
Our lucky couple says that they are still undecided about how to spend their winnings. They have a son and four grandchildren and might use the money to help pay bills and start a college fund for the youngsters.
The wife bought the winning scratch-off ticket at the 7-Eleven on 6971 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd. in Brooklyn Park.
