A loyal Racetrax player stopped into Maryland Lottery headquarters on Monday morning for one last serving of stuffing after winning $37,629 over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend!
The Baltimore man plays several times a week and started his hobby in 2006 when the Maryland Lottery added the game to its lineup. He enjoys live horse races and was naturally drawn to the computer-animated ponies. His big win on Saturday, Nov. 24, came from a set of numbers he’s bet with for two years. The city resident plays the numbers 8, 6 and 3 in whatever betting game he decides to try and said he added the number 12 horse because the long odds lead to a bigger payout. He placed a $1 Superfecta bet with 20 draws on the 8, 6, 3 and 12 horses.
His choice of Lottery retailer also played a role in his win. He frequents three Lottery retailers and Lady Luck was waiting for him at Liberty Sunoco in Baltimore. The happy man plans to use his newfound riches to pay off bills and fix up some rental properties he recently purchased.
Also celebrating is the Lottery retailer! For selling a winning Racetrax ticket of $10,000 or more, Liberty Sunoco at 5900 Liberty Road earns a bonus of $376.29, equal to 1 percent of the prize.
