Takes home big win on Bingo X3 game
A Baltimore man is celebrating today after claiming a $30,000 prize on his favorite Maryland Lottery scratch-off, the Bingo X3 game.
The 53-year-old purchased the winning instant ticket, along with a few other Bingo X3 scratch-offs, last week while buying his Pick 3 and Pick 4 tickets at a Baltimore Lottery retailer. Although the $3 game went on sale in 2017, it still had four more top prizes awaiting discovery and he was on the hunt for a big win.
“I only get the bingo games,” said the construction worker. “I like to sit down and take my time playing them.”
After purchasing the games at Jen’s Liquors located at 5303 York Road, the loyal player went home and played all three games. He didn’t realize the lucky Bingo X3 game was a top-prize winner until the next day.
“I had the cashier scan the ticket for me,” said the lucky player. “He told me, ‘Congratulations, you won!’ ”
The winner told Lottery officials he kept quiet after that and went straight home, placing his winning ticket in a notebook until he could claim the prize. The happy player said he’s not sure what he’ll do with the winnings, but will probably invest the money.
“I like to keep things simple,” he said. “I’m just going to take care of my business and live life as usual.”
The retailer, Jen’s Liquors, has a reason to celebrate, too. The store will receive a $300 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off worth $30,000.
