Man wins $50,000 top prize playing Cruise for Cash Scratch-off
Earlier today, an overjoyed Glenn Dale man came into Lottery Headquarters accompanied by his wife. He had with him a $50,000 Cruise for Cash ticket and an interesting story. Having just recently won $50 on a scratch-off, the man went to cash his ticket at a local gas station. While there, he decided to buy an Instant Cashout scratch-off, but those particular tickets were all sold out. He then went to four other retailers in search of Instant Cashout, still with no success. Finally, he decided to give up and buy the Cruise for Cash ticket. “It must have been destined for me to get this one,” the lucky winner said with a grin.
The 48-year-old found out that his ticket was a winner the morning after purchasing it while getting in the car to go to work. “While I was charging my work phone, I decided to scratch the ticket and there it was,” he said with excitement. He ran back into the house to tell his wife the good news. With the prize money, the winner plans to take his wife of 21 years on a cruise to the Caribbean and to pay some bills.
The winning ticket was purchased at Greenway Liquors, located on 7533 Greenbelt Rd in Greenbelt.
