Claims second of seven jackpot prizes on Great Big Bingo ticket
An Edgewood resident recently got an early morning Maryland Lottery surprise that made her so weak in the knees she had to sit down. The flea market vendor uncovered the $100,000 top prize on a $5 Maryland Lottery Great Big Bingo scratch-off.
“I was afraid my legs would give way,” the Harford County resident said. She remained seated while contemplating the windfall and stifling the urge to wake her household and share the great news.
Her day got off to an eye-opening start when the 62-year-old pulled out a Great Big Bingo scratch-off purchased the previous day. She noticed a pattern developing as she went through the caller’s numbers and compared them with game boards on her bingo-themed ticket. On the final call number, she revealed a G-46 that completed an X on her bingo card.
That evening, after a day of rechecking the winning ticket, she finally shared the good news with her family and her daughter burst into tears of joy. The winner said the jackpot win would provide some much-needed financial relief for her family. Her daughter “was hoping and praying, just wanting so badly for something good to come my way and here it was,” said the winner. She plans to catch up on bills with her winnings and then may take her mother on a vacation cruise. Our lucky entrepreneur found her winning ticket at Woodbridge Liquors at 1401 Pulaski Highway in Edgewood.
