An anonymous Baltimore woman going by the alias “Blessed Lady” has won a top prize of $30,000 on the Peppermint Payout holiday instant ticket.
The 66-year-old, who played scratch-offs regularly until she retired several years ago, rarely buys instant tickets these days. “Blessed Lady” was leaving the Save More gas station in Baltimore when she decided to get a scratch-off on a whim.
“Let me get a number 10,” she told the cashier. “Blessed Lady” scratched off the instant ticket before leaving and could not believe her big win. She asked the cashier to verify the holiday scratch-off’s prize. When the cashier said, “Wow, you’re so lucky!” our winner confidently responded, “I’m not lucky, I’m blessed.”
When asked what she plans to do with her newfound riches, “Blessed Lady” said she has no idea yet. She did mention that she has a husband, children and grandchildren that she will be thinking about as she plans how to spend her Peppermint Payout top prize.
Another winner in this story is the Lottery retailer. For selling a top prize scratch-off of $30,000, Save More located at 4200 Wabash Avenue earns a $300 bonus from the Maryland Lottery. The bonus is equal to 1 percent of the prize.
Peppermint Payout still has one unclaimed top prize remaining along with thousands of other prizes of $3 and up. The game is a member of a family of holiday-themed scratch-offs that offer players ways to win big. Simply enter non-winning holiday scratch-offs into the Holiday Cash & Dash second-chance promotion.
