Frederick County Resident Celebrates Christmas With $10,000 Prize

Platinum Play ticket purchased in Brunswick delivers big prize

$1,000,000-Platinum-Play-ITVM_2016A Frederick County man and his wife had an early Christmas celebration on Dec. 23 when he notched his largest-ever Lottery win.

After having dinner that night, the Knoxville resident stopped at Jerry’s Liquors, located at 30 Petersville Road in Brunswick, to cash in a $20 winning scratch-off ticket. He decided to use his winnings to buy a $20 Platinum Play ticket. It’s a game he’s had good luck with in the past, including a $1,000 prize.

“When I scratched it, I knew something was up,” said the government employee. “I could see a lot of the same numbers kept coming up.”

Indeed, the ticket was full of winning numbers, and when he totaled up the prize amounts, he was a $10,000 winner. He said he plans to put the prize money in the bank and use it to pay bills. He added that in addition to scratch-off games, he likes playing Multi-Match and has had enjoyed success with the in-state jackpot game.

“I won $1,000 on Multi-Match once, and I’ve had $100 and $500,” he said. “That game has been excellent for me.”

The Platinum Play ticket launched in August, and all four of its $1 million top prizes are still unclaimed, along with all nine of its $50,000 prizes, 21 more $10,000 prizes, and thousands of additional prizes ranging from $20 to $5,000.
