A Frederick man puts a lot of faith into his Bonus Match 5 numbers. So much faith, in fact, that he always purchases the same ticket with the same numbers four times. Thanks to Friday night’s drawing, the lucky man’s four Bonus Match 5 tickets were worth a combined value of more than $209,000.
The man, who is a nurse, told Lottery officials that he was at the store picking up tickets for the next day when he realized he was a top-tier winner.
The 47-year-old came into Lottery headquarters on Thursday after waiting almost a week to claim his prize. “I haven’t been down to Baltimore for over two years; this was a good reason to come,” he said. “It’s still hard to believe.”
When asked if he’ll continue to play Bonus Match 5 the man grinned and said, “Of course!” For now, the lucky man plans to pay off his bills with the unexpected winnings. The lucky tickets were purchased at Shady Grove B&W at 15904 Shady Grove Road in Gaithersburg.
