Gaithersburg Housekeeper Cleans Up with $20,000 Lottery Win

Finds second-largest prize on $100,000 Gold Rush game

243-$100,000-Gold-Rush-ITVMA Montgomery County housekeeper who scrubbed off the surface of a $100,000 Gold Rush scratch-off revealed a very welcome $20,000 prize on the $10 game.

Her good fortune came at the Lakeside Beer & Wine store located at 9621 Lost Knife Road in Gaithersburg, where she bought the ticket and scratched it off. A $1,000 prize appeared on her ticket with a 20x multiplier, making the total windfall $20,000. When she realized her ticket was a winner, the Gaithersburg resident began celebrating in the store. “It was very exciting,” she said.

When she’s not cleaning houses, the young woman is busy studying Psychology at Montgomery College. She said the lucky payday will help her with current and future education expenses. The $100,000 Gold Rush scratch-off launched on Jan. 25 and still has three $100,000 top prizes remaining along with one more $20,000 prize and seven $10,000 prizes.
