Gaithersburg Man Follows Gut Feeling to a Lump Sum of Cash

Player claims top prize on 2020 Cash instant ticket

Playing lottery games is usually a “once in a while” occasion for one lucky Gaithersburg man. But one day the 42-year-old felt especially lucky and decided to try his luck on a $20 scratch-off ticket. After one matching number, the happy winner was able to take home a $20,200 top prize win.

The winning ticket was purchased at Talbert’s Ice located at 5234 River Rd in Bethesda. He’d just happened to be in the area and decided to stop in for a ticket. “Oh my gosh,” the lucky winner said after realizing his lucky fate. “You have to play to win,” he further exclaimed.

After his initial shock and awe, he then went home and shared the great news with his wife and son whom were both also very happy about his win. The retailer store manager says that he plans to use his winnings to take a small vacation with his family.

Talbert’s Ice also gets a small bonus of $210 for selling a top prize winner. The 2020 Cash instant ticket launched in November of 2019 and there are still ten top prizes remaining.
