Car Dealer wins first $100,000 top-prize on 10X Cash Scratch-off

An unexpected call from your boss asking you to come in early could make anyone a bit out of sorts, but not Mount Airy resident Francis Przybylek. Reporting for work this morning was just part of the chain of events leading to his purchase of a $100,000 top-prize winning 10X Cash scratch-off ticket.

Przybylek, a car dealer for Century Dodge Chrysler Jeep of Mount Airy, was asked to ferry a car to another lot in Frederick. When he arrived at work plans had changed and he suddenly had time on his hands until his normal shift began. He used his extra time to run errands and pick up a couple scratch-offs at the local supermarket. “I bought two $5 scratch-off tickets and lo and behold, one of those tickets won $100,” said the grinning 68-year-old. “I used $20 of my winnings to purchase two $10 scratch-offs and one of them won me $100,000.”

When he returned to the car lot, his boss sent him and a co-worker to the Lottery offices to claim the prize. “They were all very excited for me,” said the father-of-three. Francis, who is scheduled to work at the lot this evening, says he’ll still probably be reporting to work.

While relaying the story to Lottery officials, the happy winner fielded calls, sharing the excitement with his wife of 38 years and one of his sons.  Although he has no immediate plans for the winnings, he thinks he may use a small portion of the prize money for home improvements and save the rest. The winning ticket was purchased at Safeway #1926 located on East Ridgeville Blvd. in Mount Airy.
