Takes home $12,183 from Superfecta bet
A huge Maryland Lottery Racetrax fan finally had his big day at the races. The grocery store manager from Glen Burnie placed a $5 Superfecta bet to bag a $12,183 prize! The winner said his lucky numbers just came to him.
The 36-year-old was just hanging out, playing his favorite game at Jessup Liquors in Elkridge, when he changed things up. “I normally have another set of numbers to play, but for some reason I picked 5, 3, 6 and 9,” said the lucky man. The horses finished in that very sequence, bringing the winner the $12,183 prize. “I was so excited,” he said.
The Anne Arundel County resident immediately called his wife to share the news. While she shared his excitement, she was also a little skeptical. “She thought I was lying,” said the winner with a grin. He went home, hid his ticket and claimed his prize the next day. The happy player plans to help family members with his winnings and pay off some bills.
The Howard County retailer is also a winner! For selling a winning Racetrax ticket over $10,000, Jessup Liquors at 7880-F Washington Boulevard in Elkridge receives a bonus of $121.83 from the Lottery.
