Wins $30,000 on Blackout Bingo Scratch-Off
A Glen Burnie woman was down to her last game on a Blackout Bingo scratch-off when something exciting happened. As she went through the numbers on her ticket, patterns on that final game began to emerge. First it was one line, then two lines and before long the entire bingo card was full except for one number. When she found that final number and blacked out her bingo card, she realized she won one of the game’s $30,000 top prizes. It was almost unbelievable. “I had to make sure my eyes weren’t deceiving me,” said the 58-year-old housewife.
Although this was her biggest win to date, the jokester had sort of been through this before. Late last year, she pretended she won on a Bingo scratch-off when she visited one of her regular Lottery shops. “I like to play jokes, and I just wanted to see the expressions on their faces,” said the lucky winner.
This time around, she shared the news of the win with her family first. “They were tickled when I told them,” she said. She kept the winning ticket in a safe place until she and a close friend came to Lottery headquarters. With the excitement of the win still new, the winner has not yet formulated plans for her winnings. The winning ticket was purchased at Chesapeake Liquors on Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie.
