Plans to launch family business with prize
A grateful Glen Burnie man who collected his $100,000 Powerball prize with his family by his side believes his mother came to him in a dream to help him win big.
“I had been praying to the Lord for strength and then my mother spoke to me in a dream,” said winner Cipriano Dolom. “She told me the numbers I should play.”
The 59-year-old said he woke up the next morning after yet another memorable dream. “I had a dream of a crocodile,” said the husband and father of three. He searched online to discover the meaning behind that dream and was happy to learn good fortune was coming his way.
“It was a sign,” he said. “Crocodiles mean good luck and that something good is going to happen.”
Cipriano headed to his local Lottery retailer, Buy N Go in Glen Burnie, and bought a ticket that included his dreamed numbers of 17, 38, 40, 50 and 62 plus the Powerball of 26. He added Power Play to his ticket, as well. Power Play increases a prize by the multiplier drawn for that game. The lucky player matched four out of the five white balls and the red Powerball in the July 16 drawing for a $50,000 win. The 2x Power Play multiplier drawn for that game increased his prize to $100,000!
“I was surprised when I woke the next morning… my eyes aren’t that good,” he said. “I had to get my son and daughter to check the ticket.”
The prize will enable the Anne Arundel County resident to start a father-and-son business. “We are very happy and relieved,” he said, encouraging others to play Lottery games. “You should always follow your instincts. We’ll keep buying Lottery tickets.”
The family still hopes to hit the jackpot one day and had already purchased tickets for several games, including Powerball and Cash4Life, from his lucky Lottery retailer located at 12 Aquahart Road in Glen Burnie.
