Grandkids’ Birth Dates Give Grandma a $10,014 Keno Win

Hagerstown player finds lucky ticket at her local 7-Eleven

A Washington County grandmother plays the birth dates of her darling grandchildren all the time when she tries her luck with Maryland Lottery games. This time, Lady Luck was on her side and the 78-year-old won $10,014 playing their birth dates in a Keno game.

“I play the Pick 3 and 4 and Keno all the time,” she said.  “I’m just so happy and thankful to have won so much this time.”

The Hagerstown resident bought her lucky 8-spot ticket on April 30 at 7-Eleven #11715 located at 19340 Lettersburg Pike in Hagerstown. When asked what the plans are for her prize, the happy player reported plans to pay some bills and save the rest for a rainy day.

“Of course, I will continue to play and hope to return here to Maryland Lottery headquarters to claim again in the future,” she said.

Her lucky retailer will receive a $100 bonus for selling a winning Keno ticket of $10,000 or more.
