Takes home top prize on scratch-off
An Eastern Shore truck driver had forgotten about a few scratch-offs he purchased a couple weeks ago until one day last week when he noticed them in his truck. He then scratched the tickets and realized he was holding a $100,000 Green Streak scratch-off top-prize winner.
“I couldn’t believe it,” the 57-year-old told Lottery officials. “I immediately signed the back of the ticket and put it on my work clipboard.”
Prior to this, the most the avid Lottery player had won before was $500. The winner, who has only told his wife and another close family member, plans to keep this win a secret. “For now, I’m not even telling my children,” he said.
The prize will come in handy. The winner plans to fix up his house and save the rest. The winning ticket was purchased at the Royal Farms store, located at 500 Market St. in Denton. The Green Streak game, which just launched on March 25, has five $100,000 top-prizes remaining.
