Takes home $100,000 Crossword game’s top prize
A Beltsville man can sleep a little easier now that he claimed his $100,000 Crossword top-prize winning ticket. The Maryland Lottery player bought his ticket at 7-Eleven #11569 in Beltsville last Tuesday, and took a trip with his mom to Lottery headquarters yesterday to claim his prize.
The excited winner told Lottery officials he scratched the instant ticket off in the store.
“The most I have won before was $500,” said the 41-year-old winner. “I scanned the ticket — and then I scanned it again and again — before it really hit me that I won $100,000.”
With his prize, the Giant grocery employee plans to pay some bills and help his mom fix her car.
The lucky Lottery retailer wins, too! The store located at 11422 Cherry Hill Road in Beltsville will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling a $100,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.
The $10 $100,000 Crossword game has six top prizes remaining, and hundreds of thousands of prizes between $10 and $10,000.
