Bought lucky ticket the day of the June 22 drawing
A Baltimore County man saw his Powerball prize double to $100,000 because he added Power Play to the lucky ticket he bought in the June 22 drawing.
The Gwynn Oak resident claimed his prize Monday at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. The winner held the 35th third-tier winning Powerball ticket sold this year in Maryland. The base prize is $50,000, and because the winner added the Power Play option to his quick-pick ticket, the 2X Power Play multiplier for Saturday’s drawing doubled his prize.
The luck ticket was purchased at Liberty Sunoco located at 5900 Liberty Road in Baltimore. The site of numerous winning-ticket sales, the Baltimore county retailer sold a $37,629 winning Racetrax ticket and a $31,454 winning Racetrax ticket last year.
