Hagerstown Man Celebrates New Year’s Eve Keno Win

Claims $25,010 prize on 10-Spot game nearly a month later

A Western Maryland man who won big bucks playing Keno on New Year’s Eve let a lot of 2021 roll by before claiming his $25,010.50 prize. That holiday weekend and scheduling challenges delayed his trip to Maryland Lottery headquarters to claim his prize but the big win was just as sweet in late January as it was on the night it happened.

The Washington County resident played $25 on a 100-draw, 10-spot packaged Keno to Go ticket purchased at Roxy Liquors in Hagerstown. His ticket only cost 25 cents per game and, with 100 games, promised more than six hours of fun. The big prize was an unexpected bonus!

The 55-year-old Hagerstown winner is the second big Keno winner to claim a prize this month. A Mechanicsville man won $30,080 playing the popular game. Keno is a fun, fast-paced game where you choose up to ten numbers and win based on how many you match.

The lucky retailer, Roxy Liquors, will also benefit from this exciting win. The retailer located at 761 E. Wilson Blvd. will receive a $250.10 bonus for selling a winning Keno ticket of $10,000 or more. The bonus is equal to 1% of the prize.
