Hagerstown Man Doubles His Luck with a $20,000 Top Prize

Triple FrenzyA Hagerstown man was in for a surprise when claiming his Triple Frenzy scratch-off prize at Lottery headquarters today.  He, his wife and a couple of friends took the drive to Baltimore expecting to leave $10,000 richer.  He soon found out that his prize was doubled to $20,000 due to the Maryland Lottery’s $2 Top Prize Doubler promotion.

The winner and his wife purchased five Triple Frenzy scratch-offs on Saturday.  They divided up the tickets once they got home, scratching a few each.  The 70-year-old husband scratched the winning ticket.  “I think I have a good on,” he told his wife of almost 48 years.  They were shocked to find out the win was doubled.

The winners, who have only told immediate family and the friends who accompanied them to claim about the win, have some plans for their prize.  “We already planned on taking a cruise next year, so this will definitely help with that,” said the wife. They also plan on working on their house.

The winning ticket was purchased at AC&T, located at 1701 Dual Hwy in Hagerstown.  All $2 scratch-off top prizes claimed by July 31st will be doubled as part of the $2 Top Prize Doubler promotion.
