$100,000 win on The Money Game collected a dozen years after $50,000 score
(Baltimore) – The last time he won a big Maryland Lottery prize, a Hancock resident was pleased with the results but learned some lessons. He has a different plan for the $100,000 scratch-off prize he collected on lucky Friday, Sept. 13, at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
Back in 2007, the player who is going by the alias “About Time – Again” won $50,000. “I wasted too much of that,” he said, adding, “not this time.”
The proceeds of his new $100,000 win on The Money Game scratch-off will help him replace his 2002 pickup truck with a newer model. The scratch-off fan plans to put the balance of the prize in the bank “and leave it there.”
“About Time — Again” also hopes to keep news of his winnings as secret as possible. He will continue to work, he said, and postponed collecting his prize because of his job. The 56-year-old bought the lucky $10 scratch-off on Aug. 30 but waited to claim his prize until he had time off scheduled.
“I didn’t want to leave my boss short-handed,” he said.
“About Time – Again” also plans to keep playing the Lottery’s scratch-off games. “I got one this morning on my way down,” he said, while seated in the Lottery Winner’s Circle. “I’ve been playing for years.” And, he plans to keep playing for years to come.
“About Time – Again” bought his lucky instant ticket at the AC&T #350 convenience store at 11079 Big Pool Road in Big Pool. For selling a top-prize winning scratch-off, the Washington County store shares in the luck, scoring a bonus of $1,000 from the Lottery. By way of coincidence, “About Time – Again” purchased his previous winning scratch-off at a different AC&T shop.
The Money Game made its Maryland Lottery Debut on Aug. 22, just days before “About Time – Again” bought his top-prize winning scratch-off. The game quickly shot to the number 1 spot on the Lottery’s Top 40 Scratch-Offs chart. “About Time – Again’s” top prize was the second one claimed, leaving another seven tickets worth $100,000 awaiting discovery along with 30 $10,000 prizes.
