Claims top prize on $10 instant ticket
Lending a hand never hurts, says a Clarksville man who often performs handyman assignments. In fact, he was helping a friend last week when Lottery luck rewarded his generosity with a $100,000 top-prize win on a Maryland Lottery Monopoly™ scratch-off.
The 55-year-old says when he isn’t running a cash register for work, he specializes in siding and floor jobs. Last week, while on a break from a handyman job, he picked out a $10 Monopoly scratch-off at Y&S Discount Liquors in Baltimore. He scratched the ticket while in the store, revealing a matching number and a top-prize of $100,000 on the $10 game.
“I could not say anything – I was speechless,” said the helpful handyman.
After the excitement of the moment faded, he put the ticket away in a safe place and finished his work before heading home. The lucky winner has shared his good news with a few family members and says the prize will continue to bring joy to his family. He plans to use the funds to pay down his home mortgage and his son’s student loans.
“I am so appreciative of the win,” said the lucky man.
The winning scratch-off he purchased at Y&S Discount Liquors also helps the store, which is located at 601 West Lexington Street in Baltimore. The city retailer will also share in the celebration and receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top-prize winning scratch-off in the game.
The $10 Monopoly scratch-off is part of a family of Monopoly scratch-off games with $1, $2, $5 and $20 games. There are still five more $100,000 top prizes available on the $10 game along with 12 $10,000 prizes.
