Baltimore Woman Hits It Big With Platinum Cash
When a Baltimore woman scratched a Platinum Cash instant ticket last week and saw that it was a winner, she smiled and made plans to claim her prize at a nearby Lottery retailer. A second look, though, brought a change of plans. What she first thought was a $10 win was actually good for $100,000, a realization that truly shocked the retired telephone company employee.
“I really couldn’t believe it,” she told Lottery officials. “I asked my sister to look at it, sure that I was seeing things.” The big winner explained that she’d had great luck with Platinum Cash, even before this big win. “I won $50 with it a couple of times. While I hoped to do better, I did not expect this.”
Having battled through several surgeries to fight skin cancer in recent years this was certainly a memorable moment. “I’m still recovering from the last one,” she related. “I’ve kept my spirits up pretty well, but this kind of luck makes me optimistic about the future.”
The winner plans to save most of her winnings and give some to her family. Her Lottery luck found her at the Soda Pop Shop at 1026 Ingleside Avenue in Baltimore.
