Takes home top prize on Blackout Bingo Scratch-off
Virginia Bailey’s love of Maryland Lottery scratch-offs has paid off big time. Last weekend, she bought a Blackout Bingo ticket and scratched her way to a $30,000 top prize.
“I scratched the ticket and since it was a Bingo ticket, I had to look at it many times to see if it was a winner,” said the 51-year-old. “I also called the store right away, and the man said to bring it right in so he could check it out.”
Once at the store, the win was confirmed. The clerk at the store even told Virginia that he had always hoped that if someone won big, it would be her because she deserved it. Along with taking care of her mother, Virginia has worked at the Tastee Freez in Easton for 36 years.

“Dreams really do come true,” the winner said, sitting beside two of her cousins at Lottery headquarters. “It really can happen to you.”
With the winnings, Virginia plans to share with her family and put the rest in the bank. The winning ticket was purchased at U-5 Foods, located at 47 S. Washington St. in Easton.
