Harford County Resident Wins $100,000 5 Card Cash Prize

Forest Hill man ends 2019 with top-prize win

Only days before the New Year, a Forest Hill resident played the Maryland Lottery’s 5 Card Cash game and won its coveted $100,000 top prize!

The lucky player won in the Dec. 31 drawing with a ticket he bought at Wawa #559 in Hickory. This is the first top prize won in the daily drawing since October 2017 and the sixth since the game began in 2012.

The Harford County man bought a $1 ticket and matched all five winning cards: 6 of Clubs, 10 of Spades, Queen of Clubs, Queen of Spades and King of Diamonds. Odds of matching all five cards in a daily drawing is 1 in 2.6 million.

The winner came in person to Maryland Lottery headquarters at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore to claim his prize.

His lucky Harford County retailer is a winner, too. For selling the top-prize ticket in the game, Wawa #559 located at 3530 Conowingo Road in Hickory earns a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery.

5 Card Cash is a poker-style terminal game using a 52-card playing deck. The $2 quick-pick game has an instant-win feature with prizes up to $10,000. Players can also win up to $100,000 if their cards match the randomly drawn cards in the nightly drawings. Players win the $100,000 top prize by matching all five cards drawn.
