Harford County Retailer Sells $1 Million Mega Millions Ticket

Jackpot rolls to $174 million for Tuesday’s drawing

Friday the 13th brought $1 million worth of luck to one of our Mega Millions players!

If you bought a ticket at Klein’s ShopRite in Belcamp for the Friday, May 13 drawing, you could be Maryland’s newest millionaire. Only one player in Maryland and two in other states matched five of the winning numbers in the drawing to capture the $1 million second-tier prize.

No one won the Mega Millions jackpot, which rolled to $174 million for the Tuesday, May 17 drawing with a cash option of $114.7 million.

The winning ticket carries the numbers 20. 21. 38. 54 and 66. The Mega Ball number was 7 and the optional Megaplier number was 4. Lottery officials encourage the winner to sign the back of the ticket immediately and put it in a safe location. This is the second $1 million winning Mega Millions ticket sold in 2016!

The retailer, which is located at 1321 Riverside Parkway, will receive a $2,500 bonus for selling the ticket. Our lucky winner has 182 days to claim the prize at Maryland Lottery headquarters at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore. Maryland saw more than 50,930 winning tickets sold in the drawing with prizes ranging from $1 million to $1.

The last Maryland jackpot win came in March 2014, when Maryland and Florida players split a $414 million jackpot. That winning ticket was sold at Lady’s Liquors in La Plata. In 2015, the state welcomed three $1 million second-tier winners and in 2016, a $1 million winning ticket was sold in the Jan. 8 drawing by Royal Farms in Dundalk. That ticket is still not claimed!
