Holiday Weekend Brings Pair of Bonus Match 5 Top Prizes

Lucky $50,000 tickets sold in Cumberland and East New Market

Two lucky Bonus Match 5 players celebrated the Christmas weekend in style after buying top-prize-winning tickets in the nightly game.

The first of the two wins came on Friday, Dec. 22, when a winning ticket was purchased at the Weis Market located at 15300 McMullen Highway in Cumberland. The ticket matched the five winning numbers: 3, 15, 18, 24 and 33; the Bonus Ball was 10.

The other win came on Christmas Day, Monday, Dec. 25, when a top-prize ticket was sold at Springdale Food Market located at 5703 Mount Holly Road in East New Market. That ticket matched the winning numbers of 4, 13, 20, 29 and 37; the Bonus Ball was 22.

Maryland Lottery officials urge each winner to sign the back of the ticket and put it in a safe place. Players have 182 days after their winning drawing to claim prizes and must come in person to Lottery headquarters at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore.

The two retailers in Allegany and Dorchester counties also have reason to celebrate. The Lottery will give each store a bonus of $500 for selling the lucky top-prize tickets.

Bonus Match 5 drawings take place seven days a week. Players select five numbers ranging from 1 to 39. The Bonus Ball drawn from the remaining 34 numbers provides extra chances to win. Your ticket is a winner if you match five, four or three of the original five winning numbers selected in the drawing. If you match the Bonus Ball number, you only need to match four, three or two of your original numbers to win!
