Wins $50,000 Hot Hand Top Prize
Pamela woke up this morning with a craving for Royal Farms iced tea, and the Maryland Lottery. That craving led to a $50,000 prize from playing the Hot Hand scratch-off game.
She was scratching the tickets in her car when she realized the Hot Hand ticket was a top-prize winner. “My hand started shaking,” said the 19 year-old residential counselor. “I immediately signed the back of the ticket.”
After discovering the new fortune, she called her parents and told them the good news. “I hadn’t even told my dad the amount I won, and he was ready to take me to Lottery headquarters,” said Pamela. She told her mother, who initially didn’t believe her, that non-believers won’t get money. Her mother quickly changed her stance, and said she believed her daughter.
Pamela plans to share the money with her family, pay bills, shop, and invest some towards her retirement. The winning ticket was purchased at Royal Farms #031, located at 2700 Taylor Avenue in Baltimore.
