Finds lucky win in recent drawing
A Mega Millions player tripled his prize in the Oct. 19 drawing by adding the Megaplier option to his ticket.
The Hyattsville resident purchased a $15 ticket for the drawing at Gas King in Prince George’s County, playing his own set of lucky numbers. The 72-year-old matched four white balls and the Mega Ball to win a $10,000 third-tier prize. Because he added the Megaplier option, the Prince George’s County man saw his prize triple to $30,000 because the Megaplier came up as x3.
This lucky ticket was the largest winner sold in 2021 by Gas King, which is located at 2025 University Boulevard East in Hyattsville. The business also sold a $5,000 winning scratch-off earlier this year plus, in 2020, a $14,955 winning Racetrax ticket and $5,000 winning Pick 4 ticket.
There’s still time to buy tickets for tonight’s Mega Millions drawing. Players can try to win the $20 million jackpot, which has a cash option of $13.9 million.
