Hyattsville Painter Enjoys $50,000 Brush with Lottery Luck

Lucky Numbers scratch-off delivers top prize

A 48-year-old Hyattsville man who loves playing scratch-offs took his first trip to the Winner’s Circle at Maryland Lottery headquarters this week. A $5 Lucky Numbers instant ticket lived up to its name, giving the professional painter a winning brush with Lottery luck.

The father of one bought the scratch-off at Lewisdale Market in Hyattsville. A painter for 20 years, he is a loyal scratch-off player and a regular at Lewisdale Market. The happy winner plans to pay bills with his prize and put some of it in the bank.

The Lucky Numbers game, which went on sale statewide in April, has three unclaimed $50,000 top prizes remaining. The game is packed with more than 300,000 unclaimed prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000. Try your luck at our painter’s winning retailer, which is located at 7701 23rd Avenue in Hyattsville. The Prince George’s County retailer is also a winner. The store earns a bonus of $500 from the Lottery for selling the top-prize winning scratch-off.
