Numerous options available for responsible Lottery play
While Maryland Lottery tickets can still be purchased during the coronavirus pandemic, we strongly encourage Lottery players to take necessary precautions and practice social distancing to keep the virus from spreading. Here are some suggestions:
Use playslips and your own pen or pencil: Paper playslips are available at all Lottery retailers. Fill out your playslip completely before getting in line to make your purchase. Retailers are permitted to require Lottery customers to use playslips, which quicken the pace of Lottery transactions and ensure that you receive exactly the numbers and options you want.
Use ePlayslips: Android and iPhone users can download the free Maryland Lottery app, which will allow you to create electronic playslips and store them on your phone. Each ePlayslip has a barcode, and the retailer will print your ticket after they scan the barcode from your phone’s screen.
Skip playslips and use quick pick: The “quick pick” option available on the Lottery’s terminals and vending machines can save you time by randomly generating your numbers – no playslips needed. Just select your game and choose quick pick.
Check tickets at home: The Maryland Lottery app and the My Lottery Rewards app will both allow you to scan your tickets to find out if they are winners.
Try advance play options: By using a playslip and marking the number of draws, Powerball, Mega Millions and Cash4Life players can purchase up to 15 drawings in a row. Multi-Match players can purchase up to 10 drawings in a row. Pick 3, Pick 4 and Bonus Match 5 players can purchase up to seven days worth of drawings.
Try Packaged Keno To Go: Keno players can purchase 20, 40, 60, 80 or 100 drawings of Keno for 25 cents per drawing by using a Packaged Keno To Go playslip. Keno drawings can be viewed at mdlottery.com, or on the Keno app.
Play by subscription: The Maryland Lottery offers subscriptions of 13, 26 or 52 weeks for Powerball, Mega Millions, Multi-Match and Cash4Life. Create subscription orders by using our My Lottery Rewards website. Once your order is complete, the site will prompt you to print your order form and mail it to us with your payment. Subscriptions allow you to be part of every drawing without leaving home, and you can track your winnings through your Rewards account. More information on subscriptions is available at mdlottery.com.
Use Lottery self-service vending machines: The Lottery has more than 1,200 self-service vending machines at retailers throughout the state, including convenience store and grocery store chains. Lottery retailers continue to clean these machines regularly. The machines allow you to purchase scratch-offs and draw game tickets, scan tickets to determine if they are winners and redeem tickets up to $600. If you redeem a ticket, but aren’t ready to make another purchase, the vending machine will print a cash voucher, which you can redeem at a later date. If you have difficulty using a self-service vending machine, please speak with the retailer’s manager.
Redeem winning tickets by mail: Winning tickets can be redeemed by mail using the mail-in claim form available on the How To Claim page of mdlottery.com. Sign the back of any winning ticket and keep it in a safe location before sending it to us.
