Montgomery County woman claims top prize on Metal Money Mania scratch-off
A Silver Spring woman woke up one morning and sensed luck in the air. “My hands were itching and I knew that something good was going to come to me today,” the lucky lady said.
Thanks to her intuition, the woman scratched more than just her itchy hands that day. The Montgomery County resident bought a Maryland Lottery Metal Money Mania instant ticket and scratched her way to a top prize of $100,000!
Fate guided our winner to Quality Beer and Wine located at 13826 Old Columbia Pike in Silver Spring. Her usual place to play Keno was unavailable that day due to a power outage. The 42-year-old played a few games and then spotted a man in line who was trying to decide which scratch-offs to purchase. Having won smaller amounts on Metal Money Mania, she was tempted to tell him to purchase the $10 ticket. However, something told her to “keep quiet.” So, keep quiet she did!
The lucky woman then got in line and let her itchy hands buy one Metal Money Mania ticket. That one scratch-off was all she needed to capture the top prize. Again, she kept quiet about her win and tucked the winning ticket safely inside her purse until she arrived at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
The mother of seven reports that she couldn’t have found her fortune at a better time. She is setting up trust funds for her children, will invest some of the prize, repair her car and finally make a voyage back home to Jamaica. The retail store also wins by receiving a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling a winning $100,000 scratch-off ticket.
