Jackpot Chaser Catches Lottery Scratch-off Win

Laurel woman claims $50,000 prize on Instant Millionaire game

192-Instant-Millionaire-ITVM_P4-greenA nurse from Laurel who plays Maryland Lottery jackpot games once a week in hopes of hitting it big caught a whopper of a win with a $20 scratch-off bought on a whim.

The Mega Millions and Powerball jackpot chaser played her numbers as usual at PG News in the Mall at Prince George’s, which is located at 3500 East-West Highway in Hyattsville. Since she had an extra $20, the 38-year-old decided to purchase just one scratch-off, the $20 Instant Millionaire game.

“I chose that game because the prizes are bigger,” she said. The lucky player scratched the game in her car, revealing a match on every line totaling $50,000.

“As I scratched, I was thinking, ‘I am about to win,’ ” she said, smiling. “I was sitting there, trying to total all of the amounts.”

While she is very excited, our winner decided to be discreet about her win and has only shared the good news with her parents. The loyal Lottery player waited several weeks to claim her prize so she could make plans for the windfall. Her to-do list includes taking a vacation, paying bills, donating to a charity and sharing some of the prize with her parents.

The Instant Millionaire game still has five $50,000 prizes remaining along with all three $1 million top prizes.
