Winning ticket worth $114,778 sold on Nov. 19
A lucky Maryland Lottery player just made history by winning the first progressive top prize in the FAST PLAY Cold Hard Cash game. The sale of the $114,788 winning ticket took place at 4:48 p.m. on Nov. 19 at Mel’s Liquors in Jessup.
This is the first of 40 progressive prizes in the $10 Cold Hard Cash game that went on sale Nov. 2. The progressive top prize starts at $100,000 and increases with the sale of each ticket until a top-prize-winner is sold. This game has thousands of other prizes, too, ranging from $10 to $50,000.
Lottery officials recommend the winner sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place until claiming the prize. Winners typically get 182 days to claim prizes. However, the Lottery has temporarily extended claiming deadlines due to Maryland’s COVID-19 state of emergency.
The Lottery Claims Center is accepting appointments for those wishing to claim prizes in person or winners can claim prizes by mail. Click here to schedule an appointment. Details on how to claim by mail are available here.
The lucky Howard County retailer wins, too. Mel’s Liquors, located at 7915 Waterloo Road, will earn a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize-winning FAST PLAY ticket of $100,000 or more.
Cold Hard Cash is one of 16 FAST PLAY games available. FAST PLAY features instant-win games printed by Lottery terminals and self-service vending machines that play like scratch-offs. Progressive top prize amounts on the progressive top prize games are updated every 15 minutes on in-store video displays, on mdlottery.com, on the MD Lottery app, and an up-to-the-minute figure is displayed on each ticket.
