$50,000 Bingo Times 10 Top-Prize Winner
Trista Hancock stopped by the gas station because she wanted to get something to drink and cash in a $5 scratch-off winner. She grew fond of the Lottery’s bingo-themed scratch-offs two months ago when she won $140. So, it wasn’t unusual for her to get the Bingo Times 10 ticket with the money that she won.
“I told my husband a couple weeks ago that I’m going to hit it big,” said the 25-year-old. She was at home with her mother and two daughters when her prediction came true. “I couldn’t believe it. I checked my ticket three times, and then I told my mother. We were in the house screaming until the baby started crying from all the noise,” Trista told Lottery officials.
Her mother told her to calm down and go back to the store to check the ticket. They confirmed her $50,000 win. “I screamed in the gas station, going out of the gas station, and when I got back home my mother and I started to scream again.” When she called her husband at work with the news, he was rendered speechless.
Trista quickly let everyone know about her good fortune via her Facebook page and many happy phone calls. Intending to use the prize money to pay bills, Trista said, “By the time we pay them off there will be no money to give away.” The winning scratch-off was purchased at Parkway Chevron, 2756 Annapolis Rd. in Hanover.
