“Jumbo” Prize for Baltimore Woman

Wins $100,000 Top Prize on Jumbo Cash Doubler Scratch-Off

Jumbo Cash DoublerOne remaining ten dollar bill led to a jumbo-sized win for the 71-year-old Baltimore woman who arrived at Lottery Headquarters today with her sister in tow.  The daily-Lottery player and professed fan of $10 instant tickets stopped at her favorite Lottery retailer on Saturday and bought three Jumbo Cash Doubler scratch-offs. She proceeded to play them there in the store. None of the trio was a winner and she was about to leave when she decided to purchase just one more. That spur-of-the-moment decision resulted in her $100,000 windfall.  “I had $10 left and just thought, ‘What the heck,’” said the retired geriatric aide.

A widowed mother-of-four, the winner first revealed a $10,000 win and then quickly scratched the bottom of the ticket to discover that her prize was actually ten times that amount. “I gave my ticket to the clerk to check,” she said. “His reaction was, ‘AHHHHH.’” The clerk immediately told her to sign her ticket and put it in her purse for safe-keeping.

Upon arriving home, the happy winner phoned her sister, son and a girlfriend to share her good news. “My son just laughed and hollered,” she said. “I’ve been amazingly calm except for a little nervousness in my stomach.”  She intends to use her winnings to do some home repairs.

The winning ticket was purchased at K N S Food Market, located at 3910 W. Belvedere Ave. in Baltimore City.  There are still three $100,000 top prizes remaining on the Jumbo Cash Doubler scratch-off ticket.
