A 53-year-old mother-of-two and grandmother-of -four expressed awe today after claiming her $50,000 Cash Spectacular prize. An avid scratch-off player, the Baltimore woman recently took a brief three-week hiatus from the games. “For some strange reason, I decided to play again last Thursday,” said the happy winner. “I only bought two tickets. Normally I would buy more.”
She was out getting breakfast for her fiancé and herself when she bought the two Cash Spectacular tickets, which she then scratched in her car. The winner said she was in shock to see the winning ticket. “I help others as much as I can. I never thought I would get repaid like this,” she said with a smile.
The retail employee immediately called her fiancé to share the news and they headed to Lottery Headquarters. Discovering that the agency was closed for the holidays, the happy twosome made a return visit Monday morning to cash the ticket. The lucky player intends to do what she has done in the past and help others with her win. She plans to share with her family and buy a car. The winning ticket was purchased at YNS Check Cashing located at 2101 E. Monument St. in Baltimore.
