Lady Luck Comes Twice for Western Maryland Man

Wins $30,000 Playing Keno

Kevin Louie - KenoOakland resident Kevin Louie ended 2009 with a bang when he won a $250,000 King Size Cash scratch-off top prize. He never imagined he would be back to Lottery Headquarters only 23 days later to claim a $30,000 Keno prize.

“It’s really hard to believe,” said the 51-year-old. “Oakland is a small town so word travels fast. Since this last win, most of my friends now think I have a lucky horse shoe in my pocket.”

The lucky winner played a random eight-spot Keno ticket with the bonus.  He matched all eight numbers and had a three time bonus. “They say it (winning) comes in threes,” he said. “I think my next big win will be the really big one!”

Kevin, who has been a propane technician for over 25 years, told Lottery officials that he plans to save most of his money and take his eight-year-old hunting.

The winning Keno ticket was purchased at Short Stop, located at 458 Weber Rd. in Oakland.
