Finds Lottery luck in June 1 drawing
A lucky landscaping employee from Upperco and his fiancé can soon start shopping for his-and-hers Ford Fiestas, thanks to his $50,000 Powerball win in the June 1 drawing.
“I can park my truck,” said the winner. “We’ll get two ‘new’ used cars for better gas mileage. We might get a camper, too!”
The loyal Powerball and Mega Millions player buys tickets for his games each week but hadn’t experienced much Lottery luck until Saturday. Because he usually wins lower-tier prizes, the father of two said he doesn’t watch the drawings.
“Ninety-nine percent of the time I don’t even check the ticket until a day or two later,” he said. On Sunday, he decided to check his quick-pick Powerball ticket. The 36-year-old was astonished to see his numbers matched four of the white ball numbers in the drawing plus the red Power Ball number.
“I had my fiancé check it to verify it,” he said. The happy couple’s next step was researching the process and paperwork required to claim the prize!
They plan to keep the big win a secret for now, he said. The longtime player plans to keep buying Powerball and Mega Millions tickets at his favorite Lottery retailers in case another big win is waiting for him. His lucky $4 ticket hailed from High’s #23 located at 4500 Hanover Pike in Manchester.
