Wins $50,000 on Bonus Match 5
Quentin Cheeks had a hard time convincing his wife of 25 years that they were $50,000 richer. In fact, it wasn’t until Charlene Quentin examined the Bonus Match 5 ticket for herself that she believed her spouse’s good news. “I had to see it to believe it,” said Charlene, who accompanied her husband to Lottery Headquarters. “Like they say, the proof is in the pudding. I just said, ‘Oh my God, Oh my God, you really did hit for $50,000.’”
On Friday, Quentin took his ticket from Wednesday’s drawing and scanned it at a Lottery retailer. When the scanner read, Cash at Lottery, he wasn’t sure what it meant or how much he had won. The clerk then gave him a printout of the winning numbers, which he took with him.
“I took my wife to Target and checked my numbers in the car while she was in the store,” said the 56-year-old father-of- three. When Quentin realized that he had scored the big prize on the Bonus Match 5 game, he was just amazed and couldn’t wait to tell his wife. “I knew she wouldn’t believe me,” Quentin said with a chuckle.
The happy twosome intends to keep playing the Lottery and look forward to more big prizes. With this particular win they plan to pay bills and save the rest. The winning ticket was purchased at Largo Pack Ship & Print, located at 9500 Arena Dr. in Largo.
