Fan enjoys the game’s mental stimulation
A Racetrax enthusiast from Clinton who plays because he enjoys the mental stimulation of the game picked up a $17,683.50 prize after betting with his license plate numbers.
“It’s a mind thing,” said the 29-year-old winner, who chose “Born Rich” as his winner nickname. He also tries his hand at Pick 3 and Pick 4 “from time to time,” but mainly plays Racetrax.
“That’s my favorite,” he said, adding, “I play pretty often.”
This time, “Born Rich” picked horse numbers 5, 6, 8 and 11, placing a Superfecta Box bet with five draws. He added the Bonus multiplier feature to his wager, too. The lucky man picked the combination because he had just picked up his car after having maintenance done and the numbers correspond to his license plate numbers. Although this is his biggest win, “Born Rich” said it was not his first. The Prince George’s County resident’s previous top prize was $3,500.
The happy Racetrax fan was all smiles when claiming his prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. He has no special plans for his winnings other than “get it in the bank, keep working, and keep stacking.”
Also getting lucky on the play is the Lottery retailer where “Born Rich” played. The home of his big win is Coventry Way Exxon at 6441 Coventry Way in Clinton. The store scores a bonus from the Lottery of $176.83, equal to 1 percent of the prize, for selling a winning Racetrax ticket of $10,000 or more.
